STA Travel Buzz STA Travel kick off mobile marketing with Australia text to win

STA Travel’s advertising can generate strong opinion, so it’s interesting to see them causing a stir on marketing blogs with their latest initiative to use mobile technology to reach out to their customers.

On the heels of the strategy (by agency Incentivated) at last week’s World Travel Market, Mike Grenville of 160characters blog describes how STA are ‘adding a text response to posters, press and direct marketing activity’ whereby customers can request brochures and appointments and even access branches via location based mobile mapping.

The first big push will be a text to win competition, with the prize tickets to Australia (all STA info on Australian deals and competitions can be found here).
