STA Travel Bugs: Best way to get from Singapore to Kuala Lumpur?
One of the reasons travelling can seem so expensive is because of many people’s (understandable) reluctance to use public transport in a foreign country. If you’ve only got the barest phrase-book language basics, you’re not comfortable with the currency and you can’t even work out whether that piece of paper’s a timetable or a menu, navigating an unfamiliar bus or train system can be a nightmare.
But if you do your research you can book in advance and save both money and hassle. In this Travellerspoint thread, ayin_0120 asks for advice on: ‘the cheapest , easiest and [most] convienient way’ to get from Singapore to Kuala Lumpur’, and Suzie from STA Travel Dundee assures us that there’s a bus you can pre-book that perfectly fits the bill. So read her full advice here and head over to the forum to give your opinion if you’ve used the service yourself…
Hi Ayin
Bus is one of the easiest ways to make your way from Singpapore to KL. It only takes 4 and a half hours. There’s a really good one that can be booked through STA - there are 3 departures a day…at 8am, 10.30am and 2pm. Picks you up at Orchard Road and drops you off in KL at the Istana Hotel in the city centre. This costs £22 per person. For bus journeys you need to make sure you’re there about 30-60 mins beforehand just to sort out the passport admin for the border crossing.
Before you leave Singapore though make sure you get in some of the highlights….Little India, Chinatown, Raffles and the Night Safari. And make sure you down one of those famous Singapore Slings!
If you want to sort out the transfer or chat about any other arrangements for the trip then give me a shout at 08714 680613
