South Africa – Twitter thoughts…
Yesterday Cam put a call out to those that are kind enough to follow us on Twitter @statravelbuzz about what they would recommend to do in South Africa. The responses were swift, so here is a few of what we discovered courtesy of our micro-blogging pals.
@ExplorerTravel admitted that choosing just one thing to do in such a fantastic destination was tough, but plumped for a Safari and offered locations to stay. The wildlife is obviously a draw to this part of the world and, should you like your wildlife wet and terrifying, the suggestions from our STA Explorer @FillingthePages and @Dansadventure will be right up your street – or should I say alley, Shark Alley to be exact! Dan also links to a post on the experience… Marianne the girl behind FillingthePages realises this may not be to all tastes however and offers the alternative of wine tasting in Franshhoek, something that appealed to our Cam.
It didn’t stop there though with suggestions continuing to flow. Another Explorer, Hang 10 and Party offered the surfers option and @cheapflights_uk gave us tips on whale watching – mid-June to the end of October for your best chance of spotting a beast of the blue.
Finally Danya Steele, who at 17 was named one of Teen People Magazine’s “20 Teens Who Will Change The World” is embarking on a journey through South Africa which will see her writing a book on Young South Africans doing remarkable things. Her blog documenting this can be found here.
If you’ve got anything that you feel should be done while in South Africa, let us know via @statravelbuzz or in the comments below.
