Sky diving in New Zealand with our latest Explorer!

Our latest STA Explorer isn’t just travelling to New Zealand; she’s already there and has also managed to throw herself out of a plane, but before we get to that some introductions. The Great NZ Travel Unravel as she’ll be known is actually Jen, who has recently become a graduate and decided to get away to the beauty of New Zealand. She intends to work the first part of her trip and party the second…

Ok, back to the sky diving in New Zealand. Her post on the subject is a must read for anyone considering the activity of hurling themselves from a plane – The Ten Emotional Phases of a Sky Dive Newbie. Each phase is described in humorous and useful detail, from the ‘The ‘book-it-so-you-have-to-do-it’ phase’ to ‘The ‘s$*t-me-I-did-a-skydive’ phase, which includes this as an almost final thought,

“If anyone was to ask me whether to do a sky dive, I would say 100% yes, it is actually really awesome and a great sensation.”

So there you have it, go crazy and get your jump booked. Read all of the phases as described by Jen, and the actual final thought here…

Pretty awesome blog there Jen, reminds me so much of my very own skydive over Lake Taupo over a year ago…must agree, would definitely recommend someone to do one and am tempted to do another one when I’m back in Aotearoa!
