Meet the Team

Meet us, the STA travelbuzz team, we’re a handsome bunch and often at travel related meet-ups so why not come and say hi. Below you can read a little on where we’ve been and our travelling aspirations…

Sam

Previously on these pages appeared mentions of fairy tales in New York and jaunts to the Midwest of America, as Sam honed his love for travelling in comfort. There was even discussion about picking up French to aid trips to Paris, though this has sadly fallen by the wayside. By his own admission, it seems that a 3rd Year Spanish teacher was, in fact, correct… He’s not a natural linguist.

Undeterred however, new plans have been formed and Sam is currently learning to ride Western style – seriously! Now his cowboy boots are actually being put to good use other than as part of the moody Jimmy Dean-esque gait that he adopts when sidling through trendy night spots. This endeavour will see him, he hopes, rounding up cattle and dodging tumbleweed come 2010. Yeehaw!

If you, like Sam, are a frustrated cattle hand, then email him and talk all things John Wayne: sam [at] statravelbuzz.co.uk

Siobhan

Siobhan would do nothing but travel if she could, and constantly chases a host of weird and wonderful adventures in foreign climes.

She’s covered everything from voluntary work in Croatia (bare-hand bear-sanctuary building), to a six month backpacking stint around Australia, New Zealand and South East Asia (during which time she gained a love for surfing, an obsession for Sharks – oh, and a broken arm). And none of that is mentioning her penchant for as many to as many short European breaks as her work will allow.

Siobhan is a big fan of hostels and camping, managing a yearly pilgrimage to a European music festival of choice and this year she is also returning to Thailand for Christmas – Happy New full moon anyone?

Michelle

Michelle has had a love affair with Latin America since she first landed on its sunny shores 10 years ago. Living & studying in Venezuela gave her the taste for Spanish and salsa and she’s never looked back! She’s also lived in Mexico and managed to eat and dance her way around the country, though there’s plenty left to explore.

As well as Latin America, she’s done the rounds of Europe working in the Czech Republic, where she was enchanted by the architecture and learned to appreciate the fine cuisine of ’stodge’.

Michelle however, will always come home to Blighty and will be the first to defend Britain and all it has to offer to travellers coming our way. The last holiday she had was a surfing weekend down in Devon and it was bliss!
