Joshua Tree Park rocks
If you’re a fan of big boulders, iguanas, hiking in 90 degree heat or U2, you’ll want to check out Bree’s tales of camping in California’s Joshua Tree National Park.
The Free Range Travel Blog follows ‘two parents, an RV, 3 kids (12, 10 & 4)’ who have taken advantage of the ‘closing down of our business’ to ’spend six months together, traveling, bonding, seeing some amazing sites’ - and Joshua Tree Park has obviously been a highlight of the trip so far, ‘a magical place where children and adults alike can spend hours exploring and climbing’.
Especially if you’re thinking of camping, Bree gives some great advice about the pleasures and pitfalls of living in an RV in the Mojave - for example, gathering wood is prohibited in the desert, so you need to bring your own if you want a campfire. She’s also posted a whole Facebook album of Joshua Tree photos here that really captures the quirky natural wonder of the park.
