How has travelling changed in the past 30 years?

As part of STA Travel’s 30th birthday we’re looking to get our STA Travelbuzz Explorers, and anyone else who’d like to contribute, to tell us how they feel recent experiences during STA Travel trips and travel in general has changed in the past 30 years.

Already having given this some thought is Andy, our Scientist Studying the World, who highlights some of the changes he feels that have had an impact in the last 30 years to travel habits as well as looking forward too. Amongst discussion of suborbital vehicles and the Euro is the personal music player that Andy believes has made the biggest change,

To me though the most significant change has been the difference having MP3 players compared to CD’s/tapes has made. I remember the last time I took a Discman away was only 5 years ago and how much of a pain it was picking which CD’s to take and having enough batteries. Going away without my iPod is inconceivable now…”

‘Going away’- going anywhere, my iPod rarely leaves my pocket! If you’ve got a STA Travel trip to prompt a response get in touch either via email or @statravelbuzz.
